Holders of the graded Panzer Assault Badges

    Hello all,

I´m currently trying to put together a list including as many holders of the PAB 25/50/75/100 as possible. You can find the list here. Of course it´s incomplete and I´m sure the users of this great forum can contribute alot to the list. So please, post any information/photos/documents regarding the topic here so the list can grow and grow and grow...

    Regards

    Friedrich Wilhelm Scheidemann

He was an officer in Panzer Regiment 2 and was I believe a Hauptman at the time of the award. I have copies and records on him from the Archive and his son. I'll research further and provide you further details and hopefully a photo. He was awarded the "25" panzer badge in silver.

Ernst Barkmann "only" was awarded the "25"-one. But as the awarding took place while retreating in the spring of 1945 in hungary, and the stuff only had the "50"s available, they handed him one of those, together with the dokument for the "25".

Thanks for all the new information. Looking forward to the Scheidemann files! Interesting to hear about Barkmann. I don´t want to doubt that, but couldn´t it been possible that he was inofficially awarded the PAB 50 then? I´m sure he already had enough combat days to earn it.
Does anyone know more about the 75/100 grade for Otto Carius? "Tigers in the Mud" only presents the documents for his 25 and 50 awards.

He told me that he has been told by a an army-clerk that they only have the "50"s available at the moment, and presented him (and the others that should be awarded the "25" that day) a cardboard-box full of those, along with the words "Pick´ one if you like...".

Sure he has seen enough combat-days, but the days counted for the "assault-badge" were only "real" assaults / attacks.

If you are interested in the wearers of the numbered allgemeine sturmabzeichen as well, I have a couple of names.

Just remembered I have a couple of pab trägers too, both were awarded the pab 25
Fritz Janke 1./Pz.rgt.11 (dkig träger also)
                Hans Werner Stabskompanie I.(panther)/Pz.-Rgt.15

Thanks again. At the moment I´m putting my efforts into the PAB list-I´ll leave it to someone else to make a list about the GAB holders.
@DavidB: Thank you for the two new entries! Do you know the rank of Hans Werner and the date of both awards?
