Oberst Ranocha was Kdr of II. Abteilung / Artillerie Regiment 58 in 44/45. Could he be Rgt commander bevor becomming Abteilungs commander ???? Thats unligical.

The units and appointments listed in the 44\45 rangliste are those held in Sept.39 at the start of the war, not their appointments in 44.
Ranocha was a Major in Jan '39.

If you don't believe me, look at some of the entries for well known personalities. Rommel for example is listed as Kdr.Kriegschule Wiener Neustadt, Manstein, Kdr. 18 Div., Dietl, Kdr.3 Geb.Div.
