    Help needed with Luftwaffe feldpostnummer

    Hi everyone!
I bought a Luftwaffe officers visorcap a week ago, and it was named with Hptm Buscher and the feldpostnummer L 35177. Does anybody know anything about this feldpostnummer? It would be nice to know where hauptman Buscher served, and what he served as. I do not have any year or month.

    35177

    (2.1.1940-27.4.1940) 3. Kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 8/I,
    (12.3.1943-7.9.1943) 3. Kompanie Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 108/I (K).

Lw.-Bau-Btl. 8/I served in East Prussia to Dec 41, then was sent to the Vyazma area to the east of Smolensk and at Smolensk until it was reorganized as 108/XI (K) during the summer of 1943. The (K) means that it was filled up with PoWs (probably Russian) with only a small German cadre. From fall 1943 to the end of the war it was in France, Lorraine and the central part of western Germany. Its commander from 3 Oct 40 to summer 1943 (at least) was a Hptm. Oskar Habicht. So your Hptm. Buscher was probably Kompanie-Chef (CO) of 3.Kp..

It said there was a minute difference between our posts, but it was closer than that

        It must have been seconds.

Excellent additional information, as always, sir

Yeah, Raymond, that seems to happen quite often. I wonder what would happen if we both hit the "Submit Reply" button at exactly the same instant? Maybe our little electrons would collide in mid-air and cause Seba's server to blow up?

            Hi Larry

If we hit submit reply at the same time there is a chance it would tear a hole in space.

Well, something like that or the server would go into meltdown
