Short Range reconn help needed

I have a gold frontflug-spange document to Obgef Friedrich Menger of
Nahaufklarungsstaffel 4./31 and it is stamped to gruppe 3. I am looking for any information on the units or if possible Menger.

Is it signed by the Gruppen kommandeur? I'd expect the stamp to be from Aufklärungs Gruppe 31, the parent gruppe of the staffel.

The document is signed by a Hauptmann .al [?]. I cannot quite make out the last teo letters, they were written in. I also cannot make out the signature, it looks like Lan?

I have a 3-page history of 4./31. If you will send me a PM with your e-mail address, I'll send it to you. You didn't specify any dates and it's too lengthy to post on the forum. As for the "Gruppe 3", if it's not missing a "1" after the "3" making it Aufklärungsgruppe 31, then it's Nahaufklärungsgruppe 3, which was abbreviated as NAGr. 3. When you have questions like this, always specify a date when possible. World War II last 68 months and change for the Wehrmacht and that's a lot of history. A specific date helps shorten the workload for those willing to try and answer the questions.
