Hello all,
Hate to be a pain, but I wonder if any members can help in my search for information of the following field post numbers?
I have today received a batch of paperwork (15+ letters, 350+ photographs and 20+ negatives) concerning the militray career of a man who started his service as a Feldgandarme in France, then became a tank commander in Russia and at the end of his life was commander of an assault gun on the Russian Front.
A brief look at the paperwork has thrown up the following FPN's with which I require assistance:
16050 @ 16.12.1943,
48437 @ 13.2.1943,
09359A @ 22.2.1943,
24320 @ 8.3.1943. This letter also mentions FPN No.
48437 presumably at the same time period.
I would like to know the units designated these numbers at the times stated, and in particular would like to know the geographical wherabouts of these units and if they were in the same place at the same time during the conflicts described.
any help is most gratefully appreciated!
Thanking all in advance,
John.
