    1./Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg z.b.V. 800

    Hi all,

I've posted this same enquiry on Axis History forum but have not received much help. Can anyone help me with information about 1. Kompanie of Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg z.b.V. 800 during the 1942 summer campaign. I know the company was subordinated to 14. and 24. Panzer-Divisions for a few weeks in August and September 1942 but I don't really know much else. Names of commanders, officers or other noteworthy men would be appreciated.

Also, is there much mention of the company in Spaeter's book about the Brandenburgers? And do the following officers appear in the book:
    Oblt. Johannes
    Lt. Frömmel
    Lt. Hebler
    Lt. Petersen

    Thanks guys!

    Best wishes,
    Jason Mark

    Stalingrad Distillery No. 2

    Jason,

I have tried repeatedly over the last 4-5 years to forward the following information to Dr. Wigand Wüster with no luck, could you try on your end! Maybe via his son?

Sorry, no info on 1. Kompanie of Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg z.b.V. 800 during that period!

I do not know if anyone has brought it to the author’s (Dr. Wigand Wüster) attention but in the German WWII magazine “Signal”, there is a fantastic picture of the Stalingrad Distillery No. 2 or “Sprits factory” as noted in the latest English language release of “An Artilleryman in Stalingrad” book.

You can see it is very early in the fighting and the main building has minimal damage. To bad, this photo was not included in the publication, especially because it being one of the final positions for his Artillery Regiment inside the Stalingrad pocket.
