    Totenkopf in Czechoslovakia?

    Hello all,

I wonder if anyone can help me with a query I have about training of Totenkopf volunteers in Brun, Czechoslovakia?
I have two separate groups of paperwork for men who served in Totenkopf units in the early stages of 1942 in Army Group North during the Russian campaign; and both have paperwork sent from Brun in the early stages after their enlistment.
Although I have read several histories of the Totenkopf units, none mention training in what is now the Czech Republic.
Does anyone have any information of any training facility at this location for members of Totenkopf?
Any assistance would be gratfully received,

    Thanks.

    John.

    Brünn

The following were all in Brünn on the dates indicated:

SS-Pz.Gren.Ausb. und Ers.Btl. 10: Formed 1.5.43 from the former SS-Pz.Gren.Ers.Btl. Totenkopf III (see also SS-Ausb.Lager Brünn).

SS-Totenkopf-Ers.Btl. III: previously in Breslau, moved to Brünn around 1941/42.

    SS-Totenkopf-Inf.Ers.Btl. III: Formed 1.9.41 from Felders.Btl. Div. Totenkopf; renamed Pz.Gren.Ers.Btl. III TK in 1942; then Pz.Gren.Ausb. und Ers.Btl. 10 Frundsberg on 1.5.43.

The above will require a bit of unscrambling on your part, but since you have read the German language histories of the Division this should not present a problem.
