I think you're right. This would tie in with Karsten's location as Von Schleich was C-in-C Denmark of Luftwaffe forces. Also, just about every picture you see of him he is wearing his Pour le Merit.

I also found it in Denmark along with some other LW Base Aalborg pictures.
