Felpost Nr. of LW and other units

    Hi mates!

i'm looking for the units that uset these Feldpost numbers. I've found them in some payment documents of about 1944 all regarding units that were in a little village of Friuli, called Osoppo.

    The Feldpost were:

    L 40353 June 1944
    L 40353(OS) August 1944
    L 53590 September 1944 (a unit indicated as "3th company of the Dienststelle L 53590 Muenchen")
18344 F March 1944 (probably the 5th company of the batallion, and indicated in the document as "company of a alpine german unit")
    49071 February 1944

hopeing in your kind and usefull replies, I wish all the best things!

    Greetings,
    Andrea D'Aronco

        Thanks a lot Adrian!!

but I understand not very much Wehrmacht organisation, unfortunatly I know well only italian and austro-hungarian armies....

so could you explain me the mean of the numbers of the Fliegerhorst-Kommandanturs?...for example in Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 225/XII what does 225/XII mean? and the "E" what does it mean?

        I'm sorry....please forgive me....

"E" = Einsatzhafen (operational airfield with limited facilities and services).
"225/XII" = a Fliegerhorstkommandantur (air base command) mobilized or raised in Luftgau XII (HQ in Wiesbaden) that was assigned the number 225. These numbers were assigned in blocks and it does not mean that there were 225 of these.
