    Hello,

Looking at a tropical item with an FP number: L 49430. Might it be Afrika related?

schw.Flak-Abt. 271(v) was formed in early 1943 and then transferred to the Balkans several months later. It was deployed in the Salonika/Greece area under Flak-Rgt. 91/20. Flak-Div. from summer 1943 to September 1944. It then withdrew to the Belgrade area in October and Syrmia in November after German forces evacuated Serbia. From January to April 1945, the Stab and 1.-3. Battr. were deployed in the Novska - Nova Gradiska area in the Sava Valley with 4. and 5. Battr. detached in the Zagreb area.

So, it is certain that it was never in North Africa. The pith helmut evidently relates to its service in Greece. Luftwaffe personnel in Greece did wear kakki summer uniforms and did have pith helmets.
