Any Help will be Greatly Appreciated

    Hello all,
I'm trying to get some info on my grandfather who fought on the eastern front...he was in a mounted infantry unit (horses that is) and all i can remember is him telling me that he fought at Voronezh and Kursk..he died in 1995 but i was never really interested in his past until recently..i have some pictures of him in uniform wearing riding breeches and cavalry boots with spurs ,he was an obergefreiter and on his uniform on the left pocket he is wearing an oval badge..can't see what it is..also a pic of him in Waffenrock posing with grandma at a bridge in Meseritz..shes still alive ,but can only remember that he was infantry with horses..also have one pic of him on horse..i will try to get these posted ASAP..all i really want to know is which mounted infantry units fought at Kursk and Voronezh ,and was he part of Army Group South or Center..His name is Thomas Golek and he was born in Grossdammer in 1912 if that helps..i've tried to research this myself but don't know where to start and grandma in Germany is just to old to be out and about...Thanks for all the help i get
