    Bombardment Eindhoven 3 March 1943

    Hello All,

I have a wartime postcard from the bombardment on Eindhoven on 3 march 1943.
This bombardment was done by the allied. According to the former owner it was illiegal published after the bombardment. On the picture you see the water tower burning. Does anyone have more info about this bombardment?

    Regards erwin

There is no record of Eindhoven being bombed on that date by either RAF Bomber Command or U.S. VIII. AAF. I also check 3 or 4 dates on both sides of 3 March 1943. Maybe it was a stray bomb jettisoned over the city or a bomber shot down by night fighters of Flak that then crashed in the city.

            Hello BHS1956.

You're right. The first time Eindhoven was bombed was on the 6th of december 1942. Then on the 30+31th of march 1943. This bombings were done by the allied.

On the 19th of september 1944 Eindhoven was bombed by the germans

            regards erwin
