      Hello Angel
I believe to remember that you have already ask for more info about him. I hope that you'll be more successful.
I don't remember if I said this last time : This officer ios not listed in the very good work of Manfred Dorr. The last edition of Dorr's gave 615 recipients. This is the 616th and even if the numnber of recipients of the highest award for the infantry is relatively small in comparison with other awards, we surely never know the exact number of recipients due to the hectic conditions in the very last days of the war in Europe. Indded, the HPA (the Army Personnel Office) in which a Branch (P5 if my memory serves) was handling specific awards recipients (among those the NKSiG), never received some approval lists by Rgt. or Div. Kdr.
Anyway, I have added this soldier to my list of NKSiG redcipients.
      Thanks for sharing
      Denis

Yes, other time I show this piece, but not as a thread by itself, now I'm trying to obtin more info, but unafortunately looks like my officer receive the deco, but no papers were summited so not notated in the official records of the OKH/PA P5 section.

        Thanks Denis.

One always find something new in this hobby.

                    Hi Merdock
Unfortunately, there is no list covering the NKSiS recipients. Your solider was probably awarded the CCCiG in the last months of the war and no approval was transmitted to the German authorities. Dorr's book is excellent and the reference for that matter but it is unfortunately not exhaustive due to the hectic conditions of the very last days.
                    Regards
                    Denis

Mr Dorr is working in his 4th book about NKSiG winners and will include Hauptmann Thedens in it. It appears that we have discovered another soldier who won the highest infantry decoration, but he was a pionier one when he won it.
