I was going through some boxes of papers and found this post-card. I am sure it is too good to be true and recall it being questioned some years ago. Just for amusement, I am posting photos. I guess, if this is a forgery, the forger did not do his FeldPost homework!
Oh yeah, that's a bad one alright, lot of controversy around Porsch. At most he was only ever an Untersturmführer. If you look up the name on Feldgrau or the Axis History Forum you'll find a good bit of info on this character.

This post card is supposedly the preliminary award document for the German Cross in Gold. I know he was a character, but he apparantly went through great efforts to legitimize himself as a bonafide war hero. Well, at least is is worth the 'snicker' value.
Was he discredited and repudiated in Germany, for his attempts to be something he was not?
