Feldpost #11445-B

Hi Guys,

I picked up a document grouping belonging to Obergefreiter Alfred Grubling.

Included in the grouping was a small slip of paper with "Feldpost #11445-B"

He died in Motorized Field Hospital 669 on 4/14/45 at 7 AM.

He received the Gold Wound badge ten days prior to his death, April 4, 1945.

He was serving with 2. Heeres Pz. Aufkl. Abt. 400

Could any one provide some information on his unit and or the FP #?

Does the number match with his unit?

In anyone would like to learn more about this soldier, I can post more of his history.

Could any one provide some information on his unit and or the FP #?

Tessin has very little to say about the unit other than it was in Italy.

Here is a web site that will list the unit and show all locations for it in Italy. The only problem is that the site's search engine is extremely difficult to use. I just tried every possible combination of Pz.Aufkl.Abt. 400 but got nothing using the "Verband" sorting criteria. Yet, I know that there are many listings in the site's data base of the unit.
