    Kriegsmarine Ground Units

I was just wondering if anyone here could provide me with some info on Wach-Bataillon Dönitz which served in Flensburg in the final months of the war. I am basically interested to know what the average member of this unit wore in regards to uniform and equipment and also if they had a distinctive badge or something to identify them as members of Wach-Bataillon Dönitz?

    Thanks guys.

    Regards,

    Des

    Hi Des,

Here is little info that I can find at the moment:

    Wach-Bataillon Dönitz

Formed 2.45 in Eutin, and later to Flensburg, protecting the Naval warfare line (OKM).
Some U-boat RKt were Company CO's in this unit, including Ernst von Witzendorff.

    Panzer-Jagd-Bataillon Cremer

Formed 3.45 from elements of Wach-Bataillon Dönitz, for protection of the Naval High Command (OKM).
CO Korvettenkapitän Peter Erich Cremer RK.
