    Hitlers in the Heer

Hello to all people; while looking for some info on the eastern front (Bug river crossing at Sokal - Jun 1941) I've stumbled with some landsers named Hitler:

    1º Otto Hitler

Birth: Jul. 18, 1911 Wien, Austria
    Death: Jun. 22, 1941, Ukraine

He was an Oberschütze in the german army and was KIA at Krystynopol,Sokal,Ukraine. AFAIK the 297 ID fought there.

    2º Heinz Hitler

Birth: Mar. 14, 1920, Germany Thesdorf Quellental

    Death: Jan. 10, 1942, Germany

He was an Unteroffizier (NCO) in the german army who went missing in the Wjasma area.

    3º Josef Hitler

Birth: Aug. 27, 1902, Germany Rechwitz
Death: Jun. 12, 1943, Russian Federation

He was a Gefreiter in the german army and was KIA at Borowitschi.

    4º Kurt Hitler

    Birth: 1919, Germany
Death: Aug. 7, 1946 Minsk, Belarus

He was an Obergefreiter in the geman army and died as POW at Minsk Belarus.

    My inquiries:

    Were they Fuhrer's relatives?

Any idea in which units they served?

    Cheers. Tigre.

    "The Führer's" real family-name wasn't Hilter.

His father Alois original name was Schicklgruber(name of his mother), his fathers name was Hiedler. When miss Schicklgruber finaly married Hiedler, Alois's name was to be changed to Hiedler, however some-one made a mistake and it became Hitler.

And that's in short how Adolf got the name Hitler from daddy Alois.
Adolf had a halfbrother in Berlin, Alois Hitler, but I don't know if he had sons.

If there were any relatives of Hitler serving during the war I don't think they would be KIA as Oberschutze or Gefreiter in the East.

          Hitler-Schicklgruber

Hello to all. Thank you Ypenburg and Tim also for joining the post. Oh boy could you imagine the German people saying "Heil Schicklgruber" "Heil Schicklgruber" , Jesus , in that way Prussia still would be German, Lwow would be Polish yet and the world would have saved so many troubles. All the best. Tigre.

PS: we would not be writing here also

Not so sure about the mistake part. The old spelling of the name was also found to be Huetler, Huetler as well as Hiedler. We are talking about people with limited education, as most people in those days were (end of the 19th century) so spelling their names was not their top priority. Maria Schiklgruber had an illegitimate son (Alois) whose father was Johann Hiedler, a miller. They eventually married but for some reason Johann did not give that boy his name for many years after that. Johann left the boy when Maria died and he only re-appeared many years later. I have read that by the time he agreed to give the boy (Alois) his name, the spelling of Johann's name had changed to Hitler.
Going back to the original question, could it be that these "Hitlers" may have been Huetlers or Hiedlers but that the spelling "Hitler" became more popular.......

There was actually a nephew called Hitler, serving in the US Army. Before the war he emigated to the states and became a US citizen. There are also propaganda film footages that starts with HITLER IN THE US ARMY!

He had 2 sons, still living in the states. One of them has his own company that has something to do with gardening.

Both sons made an agreement that they would have no children, so that the blood of relatives of Hitler no longer would go further.

They changed their names after the war, so they do not carry the name Hitler.

I believe that I viewed a documentary on either the History or Military Channel which stated as fact that a nephew of Hitler's did serve in the Heer on the Russian Front and was reported MIA. The documentary said that it was later learned that he had been captured and died in captivity after being tortured.

I'm sure more members saw this show and can probably add to the thread.

Yes, that was Hitler's nephew, William Patrick Hitler. He served in the U.S. Navy and moved to the Eastern end of Long Island, New York after the war.

Although opposing his uncle's politics in public, he made some odd choices after the war. The first thing was changing his name to Stuart-Houston, in apparent homage to the British anti-semite Houston Stewart Chamberlain. The other was giving his first son the middle name, Adolf.

He has three sons still living out on the Eastern end of the Island. I believe they are in their 40's and 50's. Kind of weird to think that there are people not too far away from me with Hitler's blood running through their veins. I believe his widow died recently as well.

                              hitlers family

                              hi guys,
yes hitler did have a few nephews...and 1 DID fight in the east,as i remember he was killed in action as an NCO......the nazis also captured stalins son on the eastern front,i cant rember if he was killed.

as for the nephew living in usa,he was from one of his sisters kids, once uncle adolf had cemented his position in germany the lad came out the woodwork and made himself know.(looking for an easy ride!)

adolf found him a few plum jobs which the lad was bone idle at,with this he was dismissed on bad terms.
he went back to the US tail between his legs and broke!.....from there he started his own show..."why i hate my uncle"....then as war broke out he was used as a propaganda show man.
what happened to him i dont know.....
                              regards
