Need info on Werner Beckers

Hi guys,

I just recieved this grouping I purchased off the forum and was hoping to find out a little more about the fellow. His name was Werner BECKERS and apparently he was a Luftwaffe pilot Officer. The seller also found were he was a reciepient of the Pokal. How would I go about this and where, any info would be highly appreciated, thanks in advance!!!

Total of 13 air victories, all while with JG 2.
KIA on 8 Sep 43 in Luftkampf.

Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen" defended Brittany and Normandy in France, 1940-44, using both the Bf 109 and Fw 190.

It’s the second time for me in this forum. So sorry for my English :
Werner Beckers is born the 23th december 1919 in Solingen and die the 8th September 1943. Beckers grave is in Bourdon (Frankreich). He was in the 7./JG2 and become Staffelkapitän of 4./JG2 in June 1943.

16.04.42, Uffz. with 7./J.G. 2, claimed a Spitfire (3rd victory)
23.05.42, Fw. with 7./J.G. 2, wounded when he belly-landed in his Focke-Wulf 190.
23.01.43, scramble, claimed Fortress II (4th victory)
11.02.43, Stab III./J.G. 2, scramble, combat but no victories
13.02.43, Stab III./J.G. 2, scramble, combat but no victories

Some info on the B-17 he shot down on the Schweinfurt raid, 17 Aug '43;

3435 (92nd BG, 327th BS) shot down Aug 17, 1943 by Lt. Werner Beckers in Bf 109G-6 of JG 2/4 while returning from Schweinfurt mission and crashed in Sint-Suibrechts-Hern, Belgium. 7 POW, 3 evaded. MACR 654


Found this in a list of USAAF serial numbers.
