47.Volks-Pionier-Brigade

Hi All,

I acquired one Pioneer tunic and the shoulder boards are in matte aluminum Russian braid on a black base possess numeral "47".

It would be of the 47.Volks-Pionier-Brigade?

Please, somebody could supply the history to me of this unit?

Originally formed as Pionier Btl.47 on 15.10.1935 in Munich as a Korps Pionier Btl. Tessin states that in 1942 it was serving with the 4 armee.
In late 44 it became the I Btl. of pionier Brigade 47 with 3 companies. the 2nd Btl. was provided by Pionier Lehr Btl.2.
The Brigade served under AOK 7 in the West.
