    feldpost numbers help needed

    Can somebody help me with the following 3 Feldpost numbers:
    47053A, 47053B en 27040B
    These appeared in 1943 dated correspondence of German units stationed in Warmond (near Leiden), Holland.
    Any ideas which units are associated with these numbers? Thanks Nick

    Hi Nick, the first two numbers are actually the same unit. The "A" and "B" suffix show which Kompanie etc he was with Here is an explanation of them:

    A - Stab (Battalion), I., II. etc.
    B - 1 Kp. (5 in II. Btl., 9 Kp. in III.)
    C - 2 Kp. (6 in II. Btl. 10 Kp. for III. and so on)
    D - 3 Kp.
    E - 4 Kp.

    So here are the details for:

    47053

    (1.3.1942-7.9.1942) Kommando 240. Infanterie-Division z.b.V.,
    dann Kommando 240. Infanterie-Division z.b.V. u. Nachrichten-Betriebs-Kompanie Niederlande (= A),
    dann Kommando 240. Infanterie-Division z.b.V. u. Befehlshaber der Truppen des Heeres in den Niederlanden
    und Nachrichten-Betriebs-Kompanie Niederlande (= A),
    (8.9.1942-11.3.1943) Generalkommando LXXXVIII. AK.
    und Befehlshaber der Truppen des Heeres in den Niederlanden
    und Nachrichten-Betriebs-Kompanie Niederlande (= A).

    27040

    (28.4.1940-14.9.1940) Heeres-Unterkunftsverwaltung Lille,
    (19.7.1941-14.2.1942) Heeres-Unterkunftsverwaltung 107,
    (15.2.1942-30.7.1942) gestrichen, wurde Fp.Nr. 01402 M,
    (10.2.1943-23.8.1943) Stab I u. 1.-3. Batterie Artillerie-Regiment 376,
    (10.11.1944-Kriegsende) 16.1.1945 gestrichen.
