Waffen SS & Pigeons

Hello!

1) I am trying, if possible, to find out information on a German unit (Waffen SS institue), and it's activities between 1944-1945.

("the Waffen-SS School and Research Detachment for Carrier Pigeons" at Bernau near Berlin.)

(Is it possible to see where he was stationed/units as seen on p.4 of the soldbuch? 3 or 4 units?)

There was a german unit working with the Dutch Police in WWII amsterdam to make sure that Pigeon keepers didn't use them to bring messages to the UK. Maybe this unit has something to do with this?

In Bernau near Berlin were barracks from Luftnachrichten Truppe erected in 1936/37, maybe the same location as Luftkriegsschule 6.

After the end of WWII this area was used by the soviet army and blocked for the public.

In the 50's and 60's older folks who lived already in Bernau at the wartime called this area "Taubenstation" (pigeon station) in connection with SS.
