German Air Force Station Command Roth near Nürnberg.

Jonathan, if I may. For the last month you have been all over this web site and Feldgrau asking very elementary questions. Now that's O.K. We all have to start at the beginning. But after looking at the list of your complete library holdings that you posted on Axis History Forum a few days ago, may I respectfully suggest that you start making a list of references that will aid the understanding of your hobby? You might start off with a nice, big, thick German-to-English dictionary and then slowly add some of the many references that you will see referred to here on this site if you will poke around a bit, especially in the "Pinned" postings at the top of each of the sub-forums where well-intentioned people have posted information on key reference works for those who collect militaria. We all have had to buy these references over time, and you should do the same. It's like someone sitting in a Calculus III class asking questions who never took basic algebra or calculus I and II. You have to get the basic references and do the homework. We all had to do this. Please accept these comments as entirely constructive and not as a personal criticism. I am a few months shy of 70 and have been an avid student and researcher of World War II for 49 years, so I get to do this now.

In the Luftgaukommando München (VII) there was a small airfiels called
          A (o) 33/VII Roth -
and this was tha stamp of the garrison headquarters.

In 1942 in Roth a/f (near Nürnberg) there was the Fl.Pl.Kdo. 9/XIII (= Flugplatzkommando 9 Luftgau XIII)

          Jul 1943 - Dec 1944 it was Fl.H.Kdtr. A 33/VII

Sorry, not to have more informations available

            Hi Jonatha,

I found some more informations dealing with a/f Roth near Nürnberg.

In 1938, 1942 there was the Flugplatz - Kommando 8/XIII

In 1942/43 there was the Flugzeugführerschule A/B 111

and since 1942 there was the Flugzeugführerschule C 13

and later, starting 1 Apr 1944 the Flugzeugführerschule B 13

sorry for asking for help, its a pity we arnt all the center of all knowledge in the universe.

frankly i do not like your insinuation that im some kind of cheapsake. if you bother to read the post i made about my library on this forum you will find that i am expanding that section of my resources that need to be exapnded as im new to the hobby. furthermore there is more than enough money invested in that library , particularly some of the Panzer books at over £50 a shot

as to being all over the forums, well whats the point of having forums if its not to ask about things one doesnt know and share knowledge one already has. if what i post increases someone's awarness of an issue or any aspect of the matter so be it. i suppose being a teacher makes asking questions second nature to me!

i have a degree in history with a specialism in germany and the second world war but i do not speak a word of german, just a passing understanding of the most common terms used in the area.

like you said you have been in this hobby for 50 years, ive been in it for 50 minutes. now if we talk about the more historical things surrounding the second world war, particularly the eastern front then i am more than capable of holding my own. in terms of militaria i am now at a point in my life where i can financially afford many of the things i only dreamt of owning before.

anyhow thanks for your points and knowledge as they have helped tremendously in the past

I made no such insinuation, Jonathan, and you know it. My words were carefully chosen to avoid all suggestions of personal criticism. They were extended and meant as well-intended counsel for the sole purpose of helping you.

Be assured, Jonathan, I shall not bother you and respond to any of your questions in the future. That's too bad, too, because I have a great deal of information on Fliegerhorst Roth.

Good day to you, young man.

                      Jonathan,

I think your english is much better than mine !!!
Even I can see no negative personal criticism in BHS's answer.

                      Seems to me: POSITIVE CONSTRUCTIVE.

In this hobby, without a good German/English dictionary , one is a blindman !!!!

BHS comments clearly says : "Please accept these comments as entirely constructive and not as a personal criticism".

Your reaction is a little bit childish.

I don't know BHS, never had contact on this site or in emails but I think you are going to far here Jonathan, when you go on - continue like this, I don't think you will receive the answers you are looking for in the future.

                      yours
