Name and rank inscribed on binoculars.

About 18 months ago I bough a pair of 6 x 30 dienstglas , a common which I passed little remark on until I cleaned them.
Un-noticed by the seller as an inscription on the front left faceplate , "Uffz" Gramens.
I know nothing about researching member sof the S.S. , would anyone be able to offer any advice , unfortunately nothing esle but the rank and name.
    Thank you
    James S.

Hi James, the rank is not an SS rank. It is that of "Unteroffizier". This is a Heer or Luftwaffe rank which is roughly that of Corporal in the U.S. or British Army. Without more to go on it will be virtually impossible to find out more about the original owner. I know this as I have tried to trace items myself
Still, it is nice to have a named item, even if more info cannot be found.
    Hope this helps you?
    Cheers, Ade.
