Hi everyone!
I´ve just got a leather mape case supposed to have belonged to a officer during the WW2. There appears a curious stamp saying something like this:
Infanterie Regt. 419 (...the "9" is hardly seen...)
2. Masch-Gew-Komp. 34.
Leutnant Mattern
The last number and the name are hand-written with pencil.
Can someone tell me something about this regiment (order of battle, history, etcetera) and, mainly, if this man fought with this unit? Any clue will be wellcome.
Many thanks in advance
Óscar
