    Seefliegerhorstkommandantur Jever

What do you need help with? It seems pretty clear to me, except for the misspelled letter (underlined).

        Hi Jacob,

Jever is situated in the north of Germany east of Wilhelmshaven (important German port), close to the North Sea. You can say it's between Wilhelmshaven and the Netherlands.

What I find very troubling in all this is that Jever was never a Seefliegerhorst. There is no water any where near Jever. The airfield, located at 53 32 10 North x 07 52 30 East, was nothing more than a grass landing field 4 km south of Jever. Furthermore, there is no record of it ever being designated as a Seefliegerhorst, which would have been ludicrous. It was initially designated as a Fliegerhorstkommandantur, then as an Einsatzhafen, and lastly as Platzkommando. There used to be a web site that had excellent little histories and "then and now" photos of most wartime Luftwaffe airfields, but it appears to have disappeared since the last time I was there: aol.com/fliegerhorste/

Because it was a rather insignificant airfield, there isn’t a lot on it, but here is what I have:

Jever (GER) (14 km WNW of Wilhelmshaven in Lower Saxony)
Ordered established as a Lw. Fliegerhorstkommandantur by 1 October 1936.
            See: Fl.H.Kdtr. A(o) 13/XI; Fl.Pl.Kdo. C 13/XI.

            Fliegerhorstkommandantur A(o) 13/XI
Formed March 1944 at Fp. Marx/20 km SW of Wilhelmshaven by renaming Fl.Pl.Kdo. A 9/XI. Under Koflug 9/XI (Delmenhorst).
1 Jan 45: Marx under Koflug 22/XI (Jever) with Platzkommandos Helgoland and Jever. Believed to have remained at Marx until the area overrun by Canadian forces in late April 1945.
            FpN: (none assigned)
            Kommandant:
            Oberst Karl Volbehr ( ? - Apr 45)

            Fliegerhorstkommandantur A(o) 13/XI Platzkommando Helgoland
1944-45 on the island of Helgoland off the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein.
            FpN: (none assigned)
            Kommandant:

            Fliegerhorstkommandantur A(o) 13/XI Platzkommando Jever
1944-45 at Fp. Jever/15 km NW of Wilhelmshaven.
            FpN: (none assigned)
            Kommandant:

There is also a series of books produced by Jürgen Zapf and published by VDM Heinz Nickel Verlag in Zweibrücken that in 8 or 10 volumes will cover all of the Luftwaffe airfields in Germany. Unfortunately, the volume for Niedersachsen has yet to appear.

              Postscript -

After much searching, I found the German web site I referred to above. It changed its URL and that's why I couldn't find it:

              http://www.relikte.com/jever/index.htm

There is some additional information here on the airfield, but most importantly it confirms that it never had anything to do with seaplanes.
