    Feldgendarmie units

I'm trying to find out which feldgendarmie unit was part of the 1e
Cavalerie Division during the invasion of the northern part of Holland. The unit i'm looking for, crossed the German/Holland border at Nieuweschans May 1940.

    Regards,
    Jasper

I read that every armee etc. was followed by units of the feldgendarmie, but i can't find the feldgendarmie units that, during May, followed the 1e Cavalerie or the 18e Armee.

Every info is more then welcome, sites containing feldgendarmie units, books etc.

Is there a posibillity to find the unit with the help of photo's showing the guy? There is a photo of him riding a motorcycle with the following number: WH 159.104 Wenn checking this number on the site (wwiidaybyday) it shows that this number belongs to Wehrkreis XV (Jena). But this doesn't bring me any further cause the numbers where changed during the war. Maybe there are more lists?

    Other info i have:
    - The soldier is of Austrian nationality
    - February till May stationed in Osnabrück in some barrack

    Thanks in advance

Not a single member that can help me into the good direction? Don't need the answer, but a little help in the good direction, would be even better.

        Hello Jasper,

If you are after the Feldgendarmerie unit of 1 Kavallerie Division then it was:

        Feldgendarmerie Truppe 40 - Feldpost nummer 47609

This site might help you a bit: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...truppen/FG.htm

        Ian

              Ah, totally missed the signature.
I'm also interested in the 1e cavalerie, cause they entered on May '40 the province i live in, Groningen at Nieuwe Schans.

Not to long ago i acquired some photo's of this feldgendarmie unit that shows pics of Nieuweschans and there way up to the city Groningen in May, very interesting pics to research. Only sad thing is the little info that is available..

Would either of you guys have any decent close up shots of members of the division with their sabres during either the Polish or French campaigns?
