Looking for info on an imperial officer...

    Hello,

Im looking for info on an imperial officer of the name Alexander Julius Rogalla von Bieberstein.
Now there many of this name to be found so it has to be exactly this man.
Information on the internet is rather limited, if anyone could take a look in their reference books, that would be awesome.
    This is what I have:
Brunswick Hussars no. 17 (1897 to at least 1910), Hussars no. 6 (from 1913, Rittmeister). It seems he took part in the Kaisermanöver; in 1920 he retired from his military career.
Any info would be great, but the main issue is what did the man do during WWI or does anyone happen to have a picture of him?
Any help is very much appreciated,
    thank you for reading,

    Katrin

    Katrin,

I can provide a few details of his pre-war career.
He joined the Husar R. 16 in 1897. From 01.10.1904 until 21.07.1907 he attended the War Academy in Berlin. The following April, he was detached to the Great General Staff for training and remained there until Mar 1910. He returned to HR 16 and became a squadron commander (5.) on 21.04.11. On 01.10.13 he was transferred to the newly created Jäger Regiment zu Pferde 11 (mounted rifles) in Lublinitz. He went off to war with that regiment upon mobilization. Sometime before 01 Jan 17, he was transfered to Dragoner R. 12 and remained with that regiment until he retired as a Major in 1919. Unfortuantely, I do not have any additional information about his wartime service.

How do you know his given names? Do you know his date and place of birth? That would be of interest to me.

      Hi Andy,
thank you for your reply! There certainly is some new information in there. It should be interesting to see.
I know his given names because I was asking for a member of the family. I got caught up in it, not everyone has such an interesting family history.
      Thank you again,
      Katrin
