Does anybody know anything about SS-Ustf. R.(?) Kerner (nr 5343), 9th SS-Panzer-Division Hohenstaufen? I have his "Maskenbrille" case (for his glasses)

Are you sure about the SS number you have posted?

I have a Rudolf Kerner with the SS nr# 5243, who in the 1938 DAL was an untersturmfuhrer.

Name: Rudolf Kerner
DOB: 21.2.1910
SS Nr# 5243
Partei Nr# 246937
Rank: Untersturmfuhrer - 12.9.1937
Awards: Totenkopfring + sports badge

He only appears in the 1938 & 1939 Dienstaltersliste according to Bernie Brule's'Key'.

If this is your man, then I lose track of him after this, I'm afraid

Whether he survived the war I cannot say. I have the same issue with a couple of attributable pieces I have.

Still, it is great to have an attributable piece to a Totenkopf ring holder and early SS member!
