    Battlefield question

    I have a Soldbuch and Kriegstagesbuch which indicates that while serving with 2/SS Gren. Ausb. Btl "Ost" in November 1943, he was fighting at a place he called Hagewald or Hegewald. He earned the Inf.sturmabz. in silver during this time. It does not appear to be a town. Does it ring a bell with anyone?

      Thanks. It makes sense. Hegewald was in the Generalbezirk zhitomir, which is where the unit was stationed.
