Luftwaffe Experts - Please Help.....

I remember some years ago reading about a Luftwaffe fighter pilot who returned to active duty after losing one of his arms as the result of combat wounds.
If I recall correctly, the controls of his aircraft were specially modified to take account of his disability.
Has anyone else heard of this pilot, and if so, could they kindly post some details as to the individual concerned.

I'd be curious to know who it was too, as it would be difficult (to put it mildly) to fly in combat with just one arm. I believe Rudel lost his leg in combat and returned to fly combat missions.
