          The last letter is definately not a "n"......not saying this is the guy could be the same name?!?!

            Here is Baumanis with a Suetterlin font that I saved as a jpeg,

                Obviously as a signature he will write it how he likes......you need a Deutschland history book to verify it or that article you showed me!

                However he may well not be mentioned anyway in the unit history .....he appears not to be a RK, DK holder.

                To me it really looks like Baumandt......but is that a real name!?!?!?!?

                  I don't think it is Baumanis. If this was so, there sould be a point on the i. He kept the sueterlin rules, has he also put the sign above the u. I stick with Baumann, where he made his personal choice, to make a "artistic" n from the last n.

                      Erich, but there is a point on the i. When dotting his i he does not remove the pen from paper, with nib still in contact with the paper, he sweeps over the i and dots it; then he moves horizontally over to the final s.

                      I think it is Bamuanis.
