need help with finding info on Pionier Bataillon 671

Hi guys-

I’m looking for any information on Pionier Bataillon 671.

I recently acquired a very nice Soldbuch to a young NCO, issued in October of 1941, that served with 1./Pi.Btl.671 through the end of the war and on 21.December 1944 was awarded the close combat clasp in bronze. I would like to do more research on this individual and his unit, but so far I have been unable to find any detailed information on the unit itself, beyond the fact that Pi.Btl.671was part of the 16.Armee:

Formed 23.5.1940 in München and Ingolstadt through Wehrkreis VII as HeeresPionier-Bataillon.

Because it is an independant army unit under an Army it is difficult to found out exactly what they did get up to.......

Yes, I agree. Because it was an independent unit it's going to be hard to find detailed info on their activities. The one thing I have going for me is the list of entries in his Soldbuch that states the date and location of each individual combat action which made him eligible for the CCC.

I know that there are a number of individuals here that specialize on particular units so I figured it'd be worth a shot to make a post. A long shot, I know...

Hallo there my name is Kenneth and i come from Denmark a danish collector on a danish forum said to me there was an ongoing search for info on pioneer 671
i dont know if this is of any importance but i just bought a soldbuch and inside its marked where it says erkennungsmarke - Pi.ers.kp.157 - 561 and other places, i dont know much about the units but he said it was related to 16 armee heeres gruppe nord and many places in the soldbuch its stamped München II 15/-/3589 and what i believe to be München 2 september 1944 Marcsh-kp-pi-ers btl 7, let me know if you need more info etc.
