The reference books by Biblio on the recipients of the Knights Cross Part III Infantry, here the entries on Maj. Erich Becker ( DoB 8.Apr. 1911 and DoD 16.Jun.1993 ) lists no promotion during 1941.
Promoted to Oblt. 10.Apr.1940 w/effective dte of 1.Feb.1940 and dte of rank 1.Nov.1939;
Promoted to Hptm. 8.Apr. 1942 , effective 1.May 1942 with same dte of rank .

The dagger was given to a officer on Jan.14-41.From the 4th platoon 14 company of the 425 infegiment.I'm trying to put a name with this dagger.

Maj. E. Becker was assigned to I.R. 385/223.I.D. from May 1940 through Oct. 1942
