I have an option for a DAK soldbuch & doc's. Unfortunately, pages 3/4 are missing, but a feldpost number of 05844 is present. I believe this is:

14 kp., inf. regt. 545 - disbanded tunis, 1943

Can anyone please ID FP #: 05844

Under: Panzer-Gruppe Afrika; later in Italy ; 1945 Adriatic coast (upper Villach)

Replacement unit: Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 50 K******252;strin, WK III


There has to be some other unit stamps, pay details etc.....he may have just received pay whilst passing through Ortskommandantur 959...especially if this is on page 20-21!
