For a while now, i have a very nice photo album containing pictures of a marine abteilung, stationed on the island Schiermonnikoog (Holland). This marine unit was part of 6 M.A.A that was stationed at a few more places in Groningen, Friesland, Emden, etc.
Now i'm searching for the specific unite that was stationed on this island. I know that throughout the war, it was one and the same unit, it never changed. Some say it was a privilage to be stationed on this island, cause it was more like vacation. From time to time they had to use there flak, but overall it was quit peacefull till april 1945. In that month a group of approximitly 100 SS, Sd and other scum, came to the island, to avoid the Canadians. But that's another story
