      Hi Dan, it roughly says:

Set up at the 1. January 1921 as 17th (Bavarian) Rider Regiment in Bamberg and the 3. Kavallerie Division subordinates. On 6th October 1936 re-named Kavallerie Regiment 17 and assigned to XIII. Army corps. During the mobilization the Regiment was dissolved and formed the reconnaissance abteilungs 10, 7 and 27 as well as parts of the reconnaissance abteilung 54.

      Hope that helps?

      Cheers, Ade.

But, the 7th and 54th Reconnaissance Battalions were part of a larger group of such that were used to make up the 6th-10th Troops of the II Squadron, 21st Mounted Regiment (07DEC1939) which, by the way, were combined with the 1st Kavallerie Brigade to became the 1st Kavallerie Division.

              Hope this helps,
              Chris
