URGENT Volksturm Help

Gents,
I am going on History Channel tomorrow to talk about Iraq. They just asked me if I can make any illusions to Germany in WW2 and the only one I like is talking about the Volksturm and how Germany used them and how Saddam tried that as well. Can anyone point me to good article on the Volksturm so i don't sound like a dope?

Well then you'd have to mention the British home guard too.

How about Germany's help to Iraq? Plenty of parallels to be drawn there and far more relevant to todays problems.
