Today I went to take some pics of the SS-dagger my grandmother has (see appropriate thread). She told me she never heard of the soldier again after his last letter in (she thinks) feb '44 or '45 and asked me if I could find some more info. He is supposed to have died on the Russian front (or captured?) but that's all we know. She had some info on his regiment etc... but she had to burn all the letters when the war ended (afraid of going to jail).
We think he served in the Langemarck division and his name was Peter Braeckeveld (not 100% sure of the correct spelling of his last name).
Any help on this is very appreciated!!!!
