I'm working on a project representing some motorcycles of this unit and was wondering if anyone knew what color piping(waffenfarbe) was used by them.
The unit was part of Aufkl.Rgt.(mot)7.
In Bob Edwards and Mike Pruett's book "Field Uniforms of German Army Panzer Forces in World War 2" on page 136 they mention the following regarding motorcycle troop's piping:
In 1937-38 the color was golden yellow.
In July 1939, the color changed to copper brown.
In October of 1941, ALL Kradschutzen-Bataillone were ordered to wear the copper brown color.
In March 1943, the color was changed to rose pink.
In November 1944, the color was changed to golden yellow.
Time frame for my project is summer of 1941.
Copper brown seems to be a good choice but since unit was part of recon abt. maybe golden yellow is a better choice.
Thanks in advance for any help...
Eduardo
