    Trying to identify unit

    Greetings,

    I have a helmet liner that has the following hand-written in it.

    19057 Lanngsittr Tr. 5

    The large word may be Larrgsittr as it is written in script.

    Any ideas as to the unit?

    B is often misread as L, I'd say you will get a better answer if you post a scan instead of your interpretation of the script. By the way, 19057 was 2.Kp./Bau(-Pionier) Bataillon 146.

        Does the picture help? I'm assuming the number is the feldpost number for the pioneer unit. I would like to see if I can narrow it down even more.

          If that's an FP number, perhaps the 'lanngsittr' word is a surname? Could Tr.5 then be Trupp 5? would that make sense in the context of a pionier kompanie?
          Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

            Could it be that "Lanngsittr" is a family name? I'm not sure.
