German Army officer Zietz

I have a army dagger with the name Zietz engraved on it. Any information on this officer would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Paul,
This may not necessarily be an officer's last name. Zietz, Germany was an army garrison town through WW2. It was captured by the 6th Armored and 76th Infantry Divisions, Third Army after heavy fighting in mid April 1945.
