    Could be the med. area or southern Russia. Just because he's wearing a flying helmet for the photo doesn't necessarily mean he's aircrew, could just be a happy snap for the folks back home or to impress a girlfriend. The reason i say that is because it seems he's put the helmet on specifically for the photo, there's no other flight gear visible in the shot.

    Hopefully someone can read the handwriting, i'm terrible at it.
    Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
