      I thought I would open this post again since I have just got back from Normandy and visiting the cross roads of the ambush. While there I saw a photo of the kubel wagon in which he was travelling when ambushed and a picture of his driver and himself dead on the side of the road. Seeing the photo really brought it home the horrors of the fighting in that area.

          Agree! At this time Mühlenkamp was SS-Ostubaf. and the officer at the photo is a company officer.
