How to track a Heer Panzer Obergefreiter

Hi all:
I have some information about an Obergefreiter serving in the Heer Panzer Korps (partly in Russia). Is there any way I can find out the specific unit he was with, when he enlisted, where he fought, etc.???

Best way to start is to post all the info that you do have.

Also, when you say Heer Panzer Korps, are you referring to the Panzer troops of the Army or to a specific Panzer Corps command?

Hi Ernst,

The Deutsche Diensstelle (WASt) can provide service record details if they exist, but I'm not sure if just a name is sufficient- a birthdate may be required. There could have been many soldiers in the Wehrmacht with the same name and I'm not sure if the WASt can easily search by unit.
