    help on helmet research

    hi guys,
    A fellow collector has this helmet. it's a m40 trop camo with this capture mark painted .
    Does anybody know how to research on this unit?
    I guess it's american (Ford). QM stands for quarter master (i've been told) but what does 49th refer to?
    would be nice to find out in which campaigns it took part
    (Africa,Italy).
