SS-Officer , last name Weber 1945

My friend is researching the events around his hometown in April 1945 . He stumbled about a high rank SS-Officer ( it seems he lead a Kampfgruppe there ) with last name Weber . This man committed suicide in the woods between Boitzenhagen und Vorhop ( north of Gifhorn , Lower Saxony ) on 22th April of 1945 . Does anybody have a Weber in his records where the above story could fit in ? My friend needs his rank and which unit he commanded last , it seems that it is the last part of his puzzle ...

My records have 6 different Weber (all Sturmbannführer) but don't have late war data. One was Ia of KG "von Gottberg" in 1943.
