stuka group Possible RK winner research

Hey guys,

Does anyone know anyone who is an authority on stuka items and personailties? I have a possible stuka RK winners group from 3/stg. 77 if ive idented the nose art correctly. I cant post photos as im not a member and the visa option isnt working if someone wants to help!

I have 3 photos:

group photo (showing knights cross and oakleaves on pilot)
Pilot and plane, showing nose art
Pilot on side of plane
Upgraded EM to officer sidecap

All from peter von Lukacs in sweden.

Regards,

Pete

The Obermaier book on Stuka, ground attack, and bomber pilots would be the first place to look--there are photos of nearly all of the RK winning pilots.

.....

Many thanks on the pics from Newfoundland!

The centre man is the man I belive, hes wearing a knights cross and oakleaves. I can see them better in person. I cant see anything more like swords though...

I have a side cap as well that was an EM cap upgraded to officer. Stamped ina rectangle Willy Sprengpfeil and somthing unreadable as its very washed out and outside the box its dated 1940. There is also a W written in pen.

I found on 2 dealers sites an item with the same markings in the description and point to origin of the cap being produced most likely in hamburg, matching the estate sale location:

WWII German Naval Foul Weather or/ Southwester Hat, used most ofter by U-boat crews, but could be issue to any Navy Ship, this is one of the lesser seen, Brown issue Southwesters, it is dated 1940 inside and maker marked "Willy Sprengpfeil Mutzenfabrik Hamburg 11.....

Third Reich, Kriegsmarine foul weather hat, greenish rubberized canvas, fisherman style, as seen in many “U-Boat” photos, in new unissued condition, with white cotton chin straps, hat marked on the inside “WILLY SPRENGFEIL MUTZENFABRIK HAMBURG 19”, dated 1940.....

This all came from Peter von lukacs shop in sweden.

Anybody that can help, that would be great.

Regards,

Pete

The man standing next to his left appears to be Helmut Leicht...Could you enlarge this picture? Leicht was a Stuka pilot and Knights Cross winner.
