I am looking for information on Grenadier Brigade 1136. What is a "Walküre" unit? I have some basic information from websites like, Feldgrau and Lexicon of the Wehrmacht. Does anyone know who the commanding officers of the unit were?

Formed 27.7.1944 in Wehrkreis VII as a Walkyrie unit (II. from WK XVII); 14.9.1944 disbanded; The remains Reste were integrated into the 544. Volks-Grenadier-Division, then used to form Divisions-Füsilier-Bataillons 545.

Structure:
I. 1-4, II. 5-8, Panzerjäger-Kompanie, Pionier-Kompanie, leichte FH-Batterie

August 1944: LIX. AK, 17. Armee, Heeresgruppe Nordukraine near Reichshof (Rzeszow) WK VII

Here is a an EK II document; it is signed by the commander of a Kampfgruppe and has a Waffen-SS Stamp on it.

Hello.
In addition to Ian's concise information I should like to contribute the following information:
Valkyrie units were improvised formations from units contained in the Home Army(Ersatzheer) i.e. Replacement and Training units. The plans for these formations were already drawn up in 1939 and upon receipt of the codeword "Valkyrie" they were to be ready in a very short time. The July 20,1944 conspirators drew or rather tried to draw from these units by triggering "Valkyrie". The plan and the code "Valkyrie" remained as such to the end of the war.

The commander of Grenadier Brigade 1136, Oberst Erich-Otto Schmidt was the recipient of the K.C. with date of 4.Aug.1943 as Lt.Col. and commander of Gren.Rgt. 679. He was promoted to Gen.Maj. with date of 1.Jan.1945 and died 18.Jun.1959 at age 59.

Does anyone have any information on the Kampfgruppen that were formed under the XI SS Armeekorps? Thank you.
