diary with feldpostnumber - what unit ?

Hello, I have a very nicely filled out diary to an Afrika soldier.
Can someone please help me identifty his unit.
I have attached a scan of his name and feldpostnummer.
Thank you kindly for any help.
(I think his rank is "SONDERFUHRER". Does that look right ?)

The number reads "L16390".
The date will be late 1942 to early 1943.

Hi, I think this is the correct number that you are looking for? I am open to correction here Not sure about the "L" prefix? L for Luftwaffe?

Thanks guys. That is great.
I thought as much.
This sonderfuhrer was probably employed as a translator. His diary has many entries in French, German and Arabic. Whilst serving in Tunisia he would have been attached to the generic "Luftwaffe command Italy", rather than an "on-the-ground" frontline unit. The majority of Sonderfuhrers seem to have been translators. They also seem to have had officers status.

The next step is getting some of the entries translated. If anyone is keen on helping me, then please contact me. The entries should reveal a good deal about his role and service in Tunisia.
