Does anyone know if Eric Topp was ever awarded the U-Boat combat clasp (frontspange) or was he already "on the beach" when this award was instituted. I know he was to commmand one of the late type XXI boats out of Norway but I don't think he ever made it back into combat before war's end. I am trying to make a display of the types of medals he was awarded and no, I don't have a U-boat badge with diamonds or even a good fake for the display. May have to use a good photo for that part of it. Thanks in advance for any help.
